A New Look at Two Classics April 29, 2009

I’ve been out of town for a few days, so I’m scrambling to catch up on this blog and everything else. But while I sort out some new posts, I did want to highlight a few of the events taking place during a very active weekend here in the Magic City.

First, Muse of Fire premieres A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Sloss Furnaces, and this is going to be a whole lot of fun. It mixes Shakespeare, magic, and romantic mix-ups with Bollywood, improv comedy actors, and the unique atmosphere of Sloss. I mean, c’mon, it’s going to feature an Indian dance troupe! You really want to miss a show with all of that? Click the link for tickets and times.

Also, on Saturday, there’s going to be a hard-hat tour of historic Norwood. You’ll get to poke through 10 recently renovated homes–and trust me, the homes there are beautiful. It’ll be a treat to see them and explore a classic Birmingham neighborhood experiencing revitalization. The link above has all the details.
