Nuns and Naked Art March 18, 2008

Did that headline grab your eye? :) Here are two cool things to fill your time this week:

Naked Art hosts an open house this Thursday night for “duty-free shopping.” Essentially, the gallery will pay the sales tax for you from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., so everything is 10 percent off, with deeper savings on certain pieces of art. Plus you can enjoy some cocktails and a (hopefully) beautiful spring evening in Forest Park.

–Before it becomes a movie starring Meryl Streep (seriously), go see Doubt, a Parable at Terrific New Theatre, showing this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. It’s a Pulitzer- and Tony-winning play (making its Alabama debut) involving nuns, rumors, and ulterior motives–quite a spicy combo! The show also runs on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through April 5; call 328-0868 for tickets.
