2nd Glance December 18, 2007

The 2ndhand, the Chicago/Birmingham literary broadsheet, has just published its first-ever all-graphics issue–and I’m excited to report that it features one of my prints. It’s the Oasis sign from Tuscaloosa on a black background. And that interesting pattern on that background is what you get when you print with styrofoam. For me the resulting image looks like a nighttime sky peppered with stars above the glow of roadside neon.

Anyway, it’s cool to think that this image will be reaching Chicago readers as well as local ones. (And I certainly hope that the publishers will consider doing more graphics issues in the future.) You can find free copies of The 2ndhand around town, and they’re proving to be popular at What’s on Second, which is appropriate, don’t you think? For more info on the publication and the readings it sponsors, check out its site.
