Please forgive the lack of posts in the past week–I’ve been enjoying a little post-Artwalk break. But now I’m beginning to plan my art for the next few months, and oh, there are some very supercool things in the works!

Over the next few months I hope to carve blocks for new prints–from new spots in Alabama and Tennessee, and possibly Florida, Georgia, and even Colorado. I’ll also be creating gift-sized wall pieces and functional art for the holidays, which you’ll be able to find at Naked Art beginning in November. The most supercool stuff, however, may come a little later, and I’ll have to leave you in suspense about that until it happens.

I’m also planning to attend a ton of art and cultural events–this is the beginning of Birmingham’s prime arts season, after all. (And in light of the Jefferson County Commission’s shortsighted and foolish elimination of arts funding, it will be very important for people around the metro area to show their support for these events that add life and color and creativity to our community. More than ever, your support is going to be key to the survival of these events.) My calendar includes four art festivals, several gallery openings, and hopefully some musical performances. Hopefully I’ll run into you at one of those!
