Art Anniversary! December 28, 2006

My solo show is just around the corner–Jan. 12 is the opening night–which means right now I’m in nonstop printmaking mode trying to finish everything. And “everything” means everything from small lapel pins to giant two-foot by four-foot plywood wall art–enough stuff to fill a room at Naked Art. I’ve also been printing on paper, wood, metal, and fabric. So it’s guaranteed that you’ll find something interesting to look at in this show. :)

But I had to stop to mark my art anniversary this Sunday, December 31. It was three years ago that day that I first showed my artwork to Vero at Naked Art. What’s interesting is that I was actually at the old downtown gallery to show her *pastels* I had derived from my photographs. At the last minute while I was putting together my little portfolio, I tossed in three block prints I had made from a Venice photo. Vero liked the pastels and agreed to show them in the gallery, but she really fixated on the prints–and asked to see more. I can’t believe it’s been three years since then–and I really can’t believe all that’s happened and how my art has evolved since then.

Whether you’re a reader, buyer, Vero, or just like my prints, thanks very much for the past three years! I can’t wait to show you what’s in the works for 2007! Happy new year!
