It’s never too early to start thinking about the end of the week. Friday night will be packed with things to do:

–Naked Art’s first opening of the fall, “Textual Satisfaction,” features paintings by M. Blue Horn and stained-glass lamps by Heather Miller. I’ve already seen a few pieces these artists have made for this show, and they’re very good. The show has challenged them to evolve their styles a bit, and I can’t wait to see the rest of their new pieces. In addition, most of the other Naked Artists will have new works on the walls, so be sure to stop by. (And say hi to the guy with the camera on Friday night. That’ll be me. :) ) It happens Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

–Moxie Art Gallery is also having an opening that night–focusing on screenprinted posters! I’m so all over that one! One of the featured artists is part of Standard Deluxe, which does some great (and for me, inspirational) work. The opening lasts from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

–Artwalk is throwing another Brewhaha–the last one before the big event in September. Stop by the Starbucks in Five Points to preview some cool art, enjoy free samples, meet interesting people, and find out what else is going on in the neighborhood that night.

–This week’s Black & White will also feature the official guide to Artwalk. You can check out all the artists and get an overview of the site so you don’t miss a thing. Look for the issue beginning on Thursday.
